“We reviewed the sales tax software options of 9 comparable, desktop products to determine the software solutions that were available. Of those interviewed, not a single town utilized a system which offers the online submissions and payments as MUNIRevs offers. As such, each system would require that the Town continue to incur the $15,000 in business revenue management each year, rather than redeploying these resources for other projects, and would also require that we hire additional staff, which is estimated to cost $45,000 per year.
In addition, none of the systems allowed for economic data collection which although is not as quantifiable, offers value to the Town. The Town of Mountain Village Council unanimously approved contracting with MUNIRevs to begin utilizing it for tax collection in 2012."
